To make thing s a little easier, this year Studio Xang decided to include Picture Pal activitiees in our syllabus for our art classes in Maesot and our art classes at Yaung Ni Oo school in Mae La Oon refugee camp.
First we designed and planned 10 activities on the theme of "Who am I?". Please see link below for more details.

Then we practiced the activities with our volunteer teachers in Mae La Oon:
Here are some examples from each of the different tasks
1. “WE’RE GOING TO SHREWSBURY”
We designed this activity because our students, migrant or refugee cannot travel. Our project Picture Pal is an exchange between Sundorne stundents and Studio Xang students, but how could it be a little more real for our students, knowing that most of them will never be able to visit England, let alone to Shrewsbury? Well this is when are and imagination come to play. "We're going to Shrewsbury" is a collage activity where by puting themselfves into places they want to vist, our students get to travel in mind.

Shopping in the refugee camp is boring because there's not much, Let's go to England and shop in a big department store! |
